Facility cleaning case studies

Case study iconMonarch Group - cleaning aircraft hangars

After eight years of working together, we have considerable first-hand experience of the quality of WGC’s cleaning and the thorough approach the company takes to training and vetting everyone delivering its services. This made WGC the obvious choice when we were looking for a company to clean our aircraft hangars at Luton airport.
Craig Cherry, Head of Group Procurement, Monarch Group

With a number of well-known brands under its umbrella, Monarch is one of the UK’s leading travel groups. Its successful aviation business operates a fleet of 30 aircraft on scheduled and charter flights from a number of UK airports and flies in excess of 6.5 million passengers a year to more than 50 destinations worldwide. In addition, it has hangar facilities at London Luton and Manchester airports where its technical division handles the engineering and maintenance requirements of the Monarch fleet as well as providing services to some of the world’s big-name airlines.

WGC has had a relationship with Monarch for a number of years having provided cleaning services for Monarch’s offices in Luton and Manchester. Impressed by the company’s high standard of cleaning and the reliability of its experienced and expertly trained workforce, Monarch saw WGC as the logical choice when it was seeking a cleaning services provider to care for its hangar facilities at Luton.

The four hangars are each large enough to house two Boeing 737s and demand technical expertise because of the high-access cleaning equipment needed. Located within an international airport they are also subject to stringent security measures. However, WGC remained undaunted. Combining its diverse cleaning experience with an appetite for developing solutions for even the most challenging environments, it succeeded in putting together a skilled team with the capability to care for the aircraft hangers and, in doing so, underlined once again why Monarch chooses to work with WGC.

Case study iconAn exclusive service for private members

“I’ve worked with WGC for 14 years now and throughout I’ve found the standards of cleaning exceptional and the company’s management incredibly helpful. Everyone is extremely professional but at the same time the company hasn’t lost its personal touch, which is refreshing and important in an environment such as ours.”
Brian Crawford, Operations Director

At an exclusive private members’ club in London’s West End, long after the lights are up and the party’s over, it is WGC that is there, cleaning up and restoring order before the next evening’s revellers descend.

Working six days a week, WGC is responsible for cleaning the entire club. This includes a reception, nightclub, bar and restaurant as well as the toilets, back-of-house corridors and offices. Standards are strictly five star but as WGC is responsible for cleaning some of the UK’s most exclusive hotels, this is home territory for the company.

It is the strength of WGC’s cleaning, combined with the professional approach the company takes to working with clients, that has seen it providing cleaning services to the club for 14 years, in spite of many approaches from competitor cleaning companies, all of which are eager to add this high-profile establishment to their client list.
