Claridge’s, in the heart of London’s Mayfair, is amongst the world’s most renowned luxury hotels. Famous for its sumptuous interiors and strong Art Deco influences, the hotel features a dazzling black and white check marble floor that dominates the entrance. Polished to perfection and shining like a mirror, it captures the glamorous surroundings and reflects the hotel’s magical atmosphere.
For almost a quarter of a century the responsibility for maintaining the iconic marble floor at Claridge’s has rested with WGC. Chosen for the strength of its skills together with the professional and discerning service it provides, WGC cleans the marble every single day of the year as well as providing a regular refurbishment programme to ensure the floor retains its lustre and durability.
WGC’s specialist workforce uses the vitrification system to maintain the floor on a daily basis. This is complemented by regular marble floor refurbishment with the diamond system, which involves grinding back a layer of marble and returning the floor to prime condition using different grades of diamond discs and a range of products. Refurbishment is key to preventing costly, long-term damage.
